Cordelia Harvey - "Angel in a Grey Bonnet"

Jessica Michna will portray Cordelia Harvey, wife of Wisconsin Governor Louis Harvey, who came to Wisconsin as a young school mistress.  She would meet and marry Louis Harvey, who would rise to the governorship of Wisconsin.  Cordelia's life unraveled when she was widowed after less than three months in the Governor's Mansion.  Her husband's tragic drowning left Cordelia rudderless and without purpose.  She would set aside her grief to become the healing angel of a nation wracked by civil war.

 

Ms. Michna has appeared as Eleanor Roosevelt and Sari Semple at Burlington Public Library and is famous for her portrayals of Mary Todd Lincoln and Abigail Adams.  This program is free and open to the public.  No registration required.  For more information call 262-342-1130, email jrockwel@burlington.lib.wi.us.m

 

Recording Memoirs and Family Histories

Meet the 2nd and 4th Thursdays
